The Golden Goose Package
The Golden Goose is your all-in-one hunting getaway. At Big Thompson Outfitters, we believe waterfowl hunting should be as unforgettable as the birds we chase.
We have excellent options to hunt from, including:
- The Train Station (floating blind on a lake with TV, fridge, coffee, Blackstone, etc.)
- The Airport (Blind with boat garage, on a 6-acre pond with Blackstone, Coffee, etc.)
- The Tower (3 Stories on the river)
- The Bus Stop (100 bird days last year) along with other premier locations.
Our guides fire up breakfast so hunters can enjoy a hot meal without ever leaving the blind.
The all-inclusive hunting package is a 3-day, 3-night package with lodging, hunting, and much more. Each package is customizable and packed with adventure, relaxation, gourmet meals, a golf simulator, and luxury amenities.

The Lucky Ducks Package
Enjoy an incredible experience with 7 of your best friends. This package includes 3 hunts in 3 days at our exclusive Train Station, Airport, and Bus Stop, and lodging is included! These are the premier hunting spots in Northern Colorado and do not disappoint.
We cook breakfast on the Black Stone in the Train Station and the Airport while waiting for the ducks and geese to arrive.
We will pick you up at the Airport and provide transportation to and from the Denver International Airport. We have all necessary Equipment available for Rental; please call Dustin at 970-420-5137 with any questions.
$1523.00 per person; 8 hunters required; only around $500 a day per person for hunting and lodging.

What You Need to Know About Our Waterfowl Hunts
Hunting Licensing
Please purchase all Colorado State and Federal licenses prior to your arrival HERE
Need Hunter Safety Classes: SIGN UP HERE
The following licenses are required to hunt waterfowl in the state of Colorado:
- A Colorado small game license
- A habitat stamp for anyone age 18-64
- A Colorado Waterfowl Stamp and Federal Migratory Bird stamp for anyone age 16 or older
- A Harvest Information Program (HIP) number (obtained after small game license)
WAIVER REQUIRED FOR ALL HUNTERS
Firearms
One shotgun per person (12 or 20 gauge recommended), rentals must be arranged in advance
For small game hunting in Colorado, shotguns are limited to a maximum of 3-round capacity, including the chamber.
For a tube-loading shotgun, a plug may be required for compliance depending on make/model.
Ammunition
3″ or 3.5″ non-toxic shot in sizes 4,3,2, or BB (We suggest 2 or BB)
Non-toxic shot can include steel, bismuth, or tungsten loads. Lead shot is strictly prohibited for waterfowl hunting.
A minimum of 50 cartridges is recommended per day
Due to large volumes of fire and close proximity, eye and ear protection is required.
If flying, please refer to your Airline’s firearm policies, as well as the most recent TSA policies.
TSA requires a hard sided case with locks for all firearms
Firearms must be unloaded with ammunition separate in its original container.
Different airlines have varying rules regarding format, amount of ammunition, etc.
HUNTING CLOTHING TO BRING
Big Thompson Outfitters has state of the art waterfowl blinds that include heating, however Colorado’s winters can be harsh and unpredictable, so it is important to be prepared.
Warm base layers are highly recommended
- Warm and waterproof hunting boots
- Warm and waterproof outer gloves
- Light layer gloves recommended for dexterity
- Camo outer layer
- Eye and ear protection is required
- Sunglasses are recommended
